Welcome to Anderton Primary Foundation Stage!

PEOPLE WHO HELP US
Reception's topic this half term has been all about people who help us. To understand the roles of people who help us we invited in two local Police Officers, PC Matt Lee and PC Debbie Jones.


PC Matt Lee and PC Debbie Jones told us all about their roles as Police Officers and how they help us and the community. They showed us their uniform and all the equipment they needed to help them do their job.

the Police Officers brought in REAL police hats and some police jackets for us to try on. We really enjoyed this, we felt really proud and special.





They brought the Police Car for us to look at. It had a TV in. PC Matt said it was for important police information! They even sounded the police siren, it was loud but very exciting!



What a fantastic morning we had. We all now have Bobby's Buddies badges and learned a lot from this visit.

We have been thinking about different celebrations. We learned about Diwali and how it is celebrated. Here are our mendhi patterns.


We made divas after listening to the story about Diwali.

Mrs Patel came into our class to tell us how her family celebrate Diwali.



Mrs Patel brought in some traditional Indian food. It was DELICIOUS!




We finished off our celebrations by playing Hindu music and the children made up some of their own moves!
