Class Teacher Mrs A Harrison
Our team name is THE COOL CATS!

SPRING 1
We had a very special ex pupil visitor all the way from AUSTRALIA! We had the chance to ask lots of questions about living in Australia, including what Christmas is like. We also enjoyed looking at pictures of the country and hearing tales of sharks!

Miss Sumner arranged a 'Dance Day' and we all loved learning new steps and making up our own dances.

AUTUMN 2
We really enjoyed our trip to Albany Science College to take part in a multiskills competition with Adlington Primary. One of our teams came second but we ALL enjoyed the afternoon(especially the journey on a double decker bus!)

We have been learning about electrical circuits and we loved experimenting to make bulbs light up and buzzers buzz.
To finish our topic Mrs Harrison set a challenge to make a free-standing, light-up Christmas tree good enough to be put on sale in a shop. First we used our Art & Design skills to create a tree.
Then we had to make a circuit and fix it inside the tree so no wires were sticking out.

Finally we decorated the trees with glitter to make them more attractive. Would YOU buy them?...

We thought you'd like to see where we always find Bruno when Mrs Harrison accidentally leaves his cage door open and he escapes...

We had a visit from Fireman Kev who helped us understand how important it is to have a Fire Plan at home so we can all keep safe in the unlikely event of a fire in the night. He gave us all a leaflet to take home and told us that if you don't have a smoke alarm the Fire Service will come and put you one in FOR FREE!

We took part in some role play, which helped us understand better what to do if there was a fire in our home.

AUTUMN 1
We enjoyed making porridge in Science to see how adding heat can change the state of some materials.

We loved reading and writing sea poems. Then we got to perform them in front of the class WITH MUSICAL ACCOMPANIMENT!

We made the most of the autumn sunshine by having lots of lessons outside.

For Harvest we led an assembly showing the importance of sharing at this time of plenty for us. We asked people to bring in a coin which we hoped to use to ask Christian Aid to buy a goat and plant an allotment for a third-world country. We were SO PROUD that we raised £135.50 which will allow us to buy 3 goats, 2 allotments and 1 bag of seeds. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO GAVE SO GENEROUSLY!
SMALL GIFT, BIG DIFFERENCE!
