Subject Leader Miss Sumner

Our PE programme includes games, gymnastics, athletics and dance using the school facilities, hall, field and playground. Swimming for Y5 pupils takes place at All Seasons Leisure Centre in Chorley, a programme organised by LCC.

Pupils are encouraged to participate in many sporting activities. Throughout the year a range of sports clubs are available (for specific year groups) - football, high fives, hockey, rugby, rounders, athletics, skipping, cross country, gymnastics, dance, zumba and aerobics. Extra-curricular clubs are held regularly throughout the year during lunchtime or after school. The school is a member of the local primary schools’ sports association which organises many leagues and competitions. Links with local professional clubs have been established and pupils participate in various schemes and competitions.

Current Events

Y2 had a BRILLIANT Christmassy time doing Festive Numeracy activities organised by Miss Sumner and the Chorley School Sports Partnership.


Athletics Competitions
Ten children from Years 5 and 6 went to Albany High School to take part in an Athletics competition. The children completed a range of jumping, throwing and catching activities. We had lots of fun!





Year 4 were also invited to a similar Competition at Albany...



And so were Y2!

ZUMBA!
Hannah Dixon, a former pupil of Anderton Primary School, came into school to deliver five sessions of Zumba on a Tuesday lunchtime (for years 3 and 4) and Wednesday lunchtime (for years 5 and 6). On the fifth session, many relatives of the children came into schooll to watch some of the routines which the children had learnt (it was so lovely to see so many of you supporting your children, thank you). Every child received a medal and a certificate.

Hannah also delivered a whole school assembly and we ALL learnt a range of groovy moves (children and adults!)
Thank you so much Hannah, we have thoroughly enjoyed having you in our school and we hope to see you again next year!
